Abstract

INDONESIA Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang banyaknya kajian teologi Islam yang dilakukan oleh bangsa Barat sejak awal abad ke-19. Mereka mengkaji karya tulis para pemikir Muslim dan membawanya ke Barat. Awalnya kajian terhadap manuskrip tersebut bersifat umum, tetapi berkembang menjadi sebuah kajian yang spesifik oleh pemikir setelahnya. Sabine Schmidtke, merupakan salah seorag Orientalis modern yang menkaji manuskrip-manuskrip Teologi Islam, khususnya dalam bidang Teologi Mu’tazilah. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan metode kualitatif dan library research yang mengkaji buku-buku dan jurnal yang ditulis Sabine Schmidtke tentang kaitan antara Teologi KaraitesYahudi dan Syi’ahdengan teologi Mu’tazilah. Dari hasil penelitian penulis, Sabine dengan kajian historis dan tekstual komparatifnya berhasil mengungkap bahwa aliran Syi’ah dan sekte Karaites Yahudi telah mengadopsi pemikiran Mu’tazilah khususnya dalam hal ini pemikiran dari Abu al-Husayn al-Basri. Bukan hanya mengadopsi pemikiran, mereka juga mengkopi dan menyimpan tulisan berupa manuskrip yang banyak ditemukan di Yaman. ENGLISH This study looks at the numerous studies of Islamic theology conducted by Western nations since the early nineteenth century. They studied Muslim thinkers' writings and brought them to the West. Initially, the study of the manuscript was general in nature, but later thinkers narrowed it down to a specific study. Sabine Schmidtke is a modern Orientalist who specializes in manuscripts of Islamic theology, particularly Mu'tazilah theology. In this study, the author employs the library research method to examine Sabine Schmidtke's books and journals on the relationship between Jewish Karaites, Shia theology and Mu'tazilah theology. Based on the author's research, Sabine's comparative historical and textual studies have revealed that the Shia school of thought and the Jewish Karaites sect have adopted Mu'tazilah thought, specifically the thought of Abu al-Husayn al-Basri. They not only adopted ideas, but they also copied and preserved writings found in Yemen in the form of manuscripts.
