Abstract

In this comprehensive investigation titled "Analysis ofEnglish Needs for Hawkers in Mandalika Special EconomicZone, Central Lombok - West Nusa Tenggara," we delvedinto the English language requirements of hawkersoperating in this prominent tourism hub. The study discernedthat hawkers predominantly possess basic to intermediateEnglish proficiency levels, impacting their ability toeffectively communicate with foreign tourists. It becameevident that tailored English conversation materials,including vocabulary enrichment, cultural awareness, andpractical communication strategies, are paramount forbridging language barriers and enhancing the overall visitorexperience. Furthermore, numerous obstacles, such aslanguage barriers and reliance on non-verbalcommunication, were unveiled, emphasizing the urgency ofinterventions to empower hawkers with improved languageskills and communication strategies.
