Abstract
Character development at this time is one of the strong concerns of the government, must be welcomed and formulated systematic and comprehensive steps. The character education process will involve various aspects of student development, such as cognitive, conative, affective, and psychomotor as a whole in the context of cultural life. The purpose of this study was to determine positive morals through character education and cultural development in schools. A qualitative approach is used in this research by applying case studies. Research informant students in high school West Lombok. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews. Data analysis with interactive models: data collection, data display, data condensation, conclusions. The results (1) character education needs to be exemplary, respectful, and responsible in real behavior in authentic life settings; (2) it becomes a holistic moral movement; (3) building a moral culture in schools: (a) moral and academic leadership of the principal; (b) School discipline; (c) involving students in schools; (d) The moral atmosphere of mutual respect, justice and cooperation. The impact of research results is students will have good attitude and emotional intelligence.
