Abstract

ENGLISH This study aimed at examining the effect of PQ4R strategy use on EFL students’ reading comprehension. This action research involved 34 studentsof English departments of UIN Mataram (Mataram State Islamic University), in which pre-and post-tests were applied to collect and measure the students’ reading comprehension respectively before and after the treatment. The data garnered were computed using Independentsample t-test formula.The statistical evidence showed that the use of PQ4R significantly improved students’ reading comprehension given the statistical evidence(5.38) > t-table (1.99).
