Abstract

Dakwah bil lisan continues to show its existence in the midst of the development of communication technology. Although these developments force humans to migrate from the world of reality to virtual reality, dakwah bil lisan shows an accommodating aspect to technological developments. This paper tries to reveal the toughness of dakwah bil lisan in the midst of the current development of communication technology and what are the factors that make dakwah bil lisan can still exist. The results of this study show that dakwah bil lisan still exists and is the main choice of the community because this method is considered to be the closest to the oral tradition of the archipelago and the effectiveness of communication between da'i and mad'u. Dakwah bil lisan makes communication take place two ways (two step flow communication) so that the interaction between interactants is more intense both verbal and nonverbal. Mad'u is easier When giving questions to the da'i while the dakwah is in progress as well as afterwards. Dakwah bil lisan is deeply rooted in the pesantren tradition in Indonesia. Thus, even if communication technology develops rapidly and the increasingly rampant use of social media, it does not necessarily eliminate the tradition of dakwah bil lisan that has been deeply rooted in Indonesia.
