Abstract

ENGLISH The conclusions that can be drawn from research on moderate character education for empowering and preventing radical behavior are as follows: 1. Moderate character education has its own way of empowering the community (the Asysyifa mosque congregation) so that later it can 85 reduce or prevent the occurrence of radical ideas. If there are congregations that are later indicated to have radical views, the other congregation members do not immediately confirm this, but the congregation gives space to the congregation by discussing or deliberating about the dangers of intolerance (radical understandings or movements), providing opportunities (space) to participate in their community so that later they will not feel marginalized, and encouraging them to do positive things to change the future so that they can make a positive contribution to the surrounding environment. 2. Meanwhile, the way to moderate character education to prevent radical behavior in the AsySyifa Mosque congregation is that society must emphasize the importance of peaceful coexistence and instill an attitude of tolerance. Kyai or mosque congregation leaders are able to provide accurate and balanced religious teachings by promoting peaceful and inclusive aspects of religious scriptures. Able to foster a sense of belonging and community. Kyai (presenters) emphasize offering guidance and role models for the creation of knowledgeable and respected individuals who emphasize the principles of religious moderation. In this research, it can be found that the current of radicalization occurs in society due to a lack of knowledge about radical understanding and how to empower people who are infected with radical understanding. However, here (in the congregation at the AsySyifa Mosque), we can find that moderate character education has begun to be taught, even though it is on a small scale.
