Abstract

ENGLISH The purpose of this research was to investigate how Islamic education is managed by utilizing the Santri character culture that emphasizes good quality. The research collected data through detailed interviews, observation, and documentation. The interactive model used to analyze the data consisted of data collection, reduction, display, and conclusion. The results indicate that the Islamic education planning model, which focuses on the cultural quality of the students' character at traditional Muslim schools (Santri), is based on a systemic-integrative model. This model emphasizes the importance of habituation, personification, role modeling, and integration of regular programs with extracurricular, intra-curricular, and co-curricular activities. The creation of a conducive environment reflects a culture of academic excellence, religious awareness, and internal and external supervision models. The research implies the need for a curriculum that incorporates the cultural quality of students, exemplary rules and habituation, and targets to be achieved. The Santri character culture is marked by a systemic-integrative management approach to Islamic education, which promotes academic and religious excellence. This approach demonstrates a competitive advantage with high intellectual abilities, along with an appreciation for national values, faith, and ancestral culture to meet the wider community's expectations.
